Networking among women is not new. Women have always instinctively sought out each other, kept in touch with each other and stood by each other. Feminism could not have become a world wide movement without the information sharing among women. Given the history of friendships and collaborations of Spinifex with feminist organisations in Asia networking with Asia wasn't a new thing either. What is new, however, is the technology and the use that we are putting it to. Having experimented with a Home Page of our own we thought it might be a good idea to create a space on the World Wide Web which could be shared by similar organisations located in the Asia Pacific region. Some funding we received made it possible for us to start the project. The site was initially developed by Bandana Pattanaik, but continues to grow. So, if you are a small, independent publisher or bookseller based in the Asia Pacific region and would like to promote your books on our Home Page please write to us at:
504 Queensberry St, PO Box 212, North Melbourne, Vic, 3051, Australia or fax your material to + 613-9329-9238 or email us at women@spinifexpress.com.au
