Biography
Penny Mackieson

Penny Mackieson is an Australian social worker and author who was adopted as a newborn and has worked primarily in the children and family services sector. She has Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Melbourne, where she is currently undertaking PhD studies on permanency in out-of-home care, focusing on Permanent Care Orders. Penny recently became Chair of VANISH, the Victorian Adoption Network for Information and Self Help. She lives with her husband and son in inner Melbourne.
